Ladybug House Raising Funds for Seriously Ill Kids

Ladybug House, a local charity SAV-ON is supporting, is raising funds for seriously ill kids. They have developed a program where they make seriously ill children’s drawings and pictures come to life in the form of personalized plushies. These stuffed toys are designed by the children themselves through their imagination, their own drawings, and wishes.

Ladybug House then has a company turn the children’s creations into plushies and, at the end of the year, holds a virtual reveal party that is open to the public.

They are currently preparing for their fifth annual plushy event, which will provide 30 children with their own personalized stuffed toys. The event is scheduled for this fall.

Concert Raises $34,000 for Ladybug House

Ladybug House is excited to announce that a young student has raised $34,000 in donations for a concert she performed at the IKEA Performing Arts Center in Renton to support Ladybug House!

Malavika, a 16-year-old Liberty High School student, organized a community concert with the help of her parents and an organization called Care and Share.

A talented vocalist, she performed a Carnatic classic vocal concert while accompanied by an orchestra last March with nearly 300 people in attendance!

Partnering with Colleges

Ladybug House is currently partnering with Central Washington University, creating a virtual resource for families, a program that incorporates teleplay resources for home-bound children.

They were also fortunate to have a Seattle Pacific University graduate student work for three months on a project that involved interviewing families and assessing the virtual child-life program to help Ladybug House to address the specific needs of the children they serve.

Food Gift Cards

SAV-ON sponsors Ladybug House Caregiver Cafeteria Support. This provides food for family caregivers tending to their seriously ill children. Many times they cannot or will not leave because the child is so seriously ill.

Through outside contributions, Ladybug House provides gift cards for meals in the hospital’s cafeteria for family members to stay with their child but still get nutritional meals without leaving the hospital.

SAV-ON is contributing to this worthy cause by providing envelopes to hold the gift cards.

SAV-ON Insurance is proud to support this incredible charity. Every referral for an insurance quote, whether or not that referral results in a policy, will help feed family caregivers in the hospital.
