SAV-ON’s Referral Program Benefits the Ladybug House Charity

SAV-ON Insurance donates to a local charity, Ladybug House, through its referral program called Referral Rewards. For every referral they get, whether or not it results in a policy, they donate $2 to that charity.

We are proud to have Ladybug House, a Seattle-area nonprofit, as our chosen charity. Their mission is to provide support to families coping with the heartbreaking task of providing care to a child or adolescent with a life-threatening illness.

How Ladybug House Started

Ladybug House was founded by a longtime registered nurse who spent over 30 years in pediatric oncology. She worked night shifts at the bedsides of hundreds of children, providing end-of-life care to many of them.

Suzanne Gwynn witnessed the need for this type of organization firsthand. Children with life-threatening illnesses and their families deserve a positive, supportive space outside of the hospital to comfortably gather, take a break, and have some fun as they face an a limited future with their child.

Ladybug House is working to build and operate Washington State’s first free-standing, family-centered palliative care and hospice home for children, adolescents, and young adults with life-threatening illnesses.

The Focus of the Nonprofit

Ladybug House will give exhausted families the opportunity to gather comfortably outside of the traditional hospital setting. They will offer physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support all under one roof, as well as end-of-life care and ongoing bereavement support if needed.

While working towards this long-term goal, Ladybug House currently operates primarily through its family outreach program, Ladybug Love. This program offers children and their families experiences of comfort, kindness, and connection delivered through community donations. In addition, they provide support such as transportation, lodging, nourishment, celebratory events, special gifts, and entertainment outings.
