Being the daughter of one of the owners, Juliette Devitte has spent much of her life in and around SAV-ON Insurance. She has grown up in that environment and enjoyed the experience, surrounded by family members and ‘learning the ropes’.
But, after attending college at Western Washington University in Bellingham and earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications (with a minor in Sociology), she returned to work at the SAV-ON Des Moines office with a new perspective and desire to live life to the fullest.
Juliette was born in Palm Springs, California, but was only a week old when her family moved to Federal Way. She attended high school in Federal Way while working part-time at SAV-ON’s Des Moines office doing a variety of tasks there.
Now that she’s back, it’s a full-time job doing everything from stocking the supply closet to data entry. She enjoys the family atmosphere at SAV-ON and the wonderful people she sees every day at the office, but it’s only a matter of time before she embarks on a new career.
In the meantime, she and her sister, Elizabeth, will soon jet off to England and France for a European vacation. It’s a birthday present from her sister, and she is excited to spend some quality time with her before Elizabeth gets married this summer.
Recently, Juliette has found her own happiness in a young man from Boise, Idaho she met online. Jake graduated from Boise State University, and they connected right away.
“After we first met, we would Facetime for five to six hours at a time!” She remembers. “I even secretly flew to Boise to finally meet him in person without anyone knowing.”
Since that time their Facetiming has diminished somewhat, but not their fondness for each other. When asked where she saw herself in five years, she was ready with the details.
“I want to be living in an apartment with Jake and two cats; one a Siamese and the other a brown cat with green eyes,” she says. “By then I will be higher-up in sales at my job, and happy and stable.”
That’s a crystal-clear set of goals from a 21-year-old! But not surprising, since she doesn’t shy away from making plans and seeking adventure.
“I like to try something to see if I like it. If I like it, I’ve found something new. If I don’t, I tell myself I’m not doing that again. But if you don’t try it, how would you know?”
With that go-for-it attitude, Juliette’s adventures will turn out just fine.
