We’ve all grown accustomed to the “new normal” of wearing protective COVID-19 face masks when visiting stores or out in public, so why not embrace the trend? This isn’t going to go away for a while, so many people are making a statement with a custom mask.
No doubt you’ve seen a variety of interesting takes on the original light blue mask that has been common since the pandemic started. Then there were the N-95 masks that healthcare workers, nurses and doctors were wearing for added protection from the virus.
Now the fashion industry and retailers have turned their attention to the masks.
There are COVID-19 face masks that covered in lace, masks that are adorned with jewels or logos or funny faces. Others sport political statements or whimsical artwork. Patriotism is on full display on others that have an American flag on them, while others actually light up!
Design Your Own Mask
Let your creative juices flow and design your own mask, either with a usual fabric, design, or illustration that reflects your unique personality! Or, if you’d rather just purchase a cool mask, then there are literally hundreds of companies turning out a variety of designs.
Keep in mind, however, that some of the masks being designed out there are not very effective for preventing the spread of coronavirus. As an example, see the bejeweled mask to the right which has lots of spaces between the jewels. It won’t stop much that way.
If you want adequate virus prevention it’s always better to opt for a medically-approved mask. So, even if you want to look good in that beaded, bejeweled fashion-statement mask, if it won’t keep you from spreading potential coronavirus germs, it’s best not to wear it!
